In loving memory of a Glenwood mom, Joanna.
The annual Glenwood Walkathon has raised over $160,000 for various non-profit organizations over the years. Each year we select an organization that has affected our school community. This year, we are walking to support Colon Cancer Alliance, in memory of a Glenwood mom - Joanna Dranikoff.
Joanna lost her battle to colon cancer in March 2016. Joanna was a kind, loving mother who raised 3 children and she was also an active volunteer at many school events. Joanna's 2 elder children graduated from Glenwood and her youngest child is currently a Glenwood 5th grader.
We kindly ask you to donate to this worthy cause in memory of Joanna. Colon cancer is one of the most preventable diseases with the help of early screenings. Joanna felt strongly about early screening. We ask you to encourage all your family and friends to get early screenings! CDC recommends screening starting at age of 50 (earlier if African American or with family history).
Join us on October 19th (rain date: October 21) at Glenwood School to walk, hop, and run to remember Joanna. Together, we can raise awareness and make a difference!
