A Tribute to My Father
Someone once said, "You can tell the character of a man by listening to his children." Below is an open letter to my father that describes his distinctive qualities.
A father like you is a rare and precious gift. Thank God he allowed you to touch my life! You taught me to build strong character, passionately pursue my dreams, approach every task with tireless commitment, and cherish my family as a source of pride and strength. You imparted wisdom through lessons in love, honesty, and devotion. More importantly, you modeled Godly character, excellence, perseverance, sacrifice, self-confidence, and dignity. I could always count on you to protect me, believe in my abilities, take pride in my accomplishments, share in my disappointments, and be there for me when I made mistakes.
I can never repay you for the many sacrifices you made for our family. Thank you for being a wonderful example of manhood. You played a pivotal role in developing the best of my qualities. Because you loved me, I am a compassionate, determined, intelligent, self-confident woman who takes pride in her appearance, loves music, and enjoys laughing.
Words cannot express how terribly I'll miss you. However, I find comfort in knowing you ran the race to completion, you fulfilled God's purpose for your life, and, because of your faithfulness, you have received your reward in Heaven. Your legacy will live on in my heart, and each day of my life, I will strive to emulate your perseverance. Thanks for leaving me with a lifetime of memories and laughter to cherish. I love you so much.
My father courageously met the challenge of cancer, and he fought it well. He was a man of grace, integrity, and loyalty who leaves his family with a legacy of love, strength, courage, and a life of laughter.
