On March 27th, 2017, my life was officially split into two eras, BC and DC (Before Cancer and During Cancer). And because I fully intend on living through a third era, AC (After Cancer), I want to do everything I can to support the research being done on colorectal cancer. Colon cancer is the third most common cancer and the 2nd most deadly. There are so many people out there who, like me, are waiting for effective treatments. Colon Cancer Alliance is an amazing organization hellbent on kicking colon cancer's ass, and I am proud to support them.
I would be honored if you contributed to my Blue Star Tribute in support of Colon Cancer Alliance.
From Josh, Jenessa's brother
I created this page in honor of my sister, who was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer at the ripe old age of 34.
Jenessa is a middle school English teacher and an amazing writer. Of course I have to say that, but I'm not the only one who thinks so, as whenever she posts to her blogs, people comment that she's so honest and witty in the face of serious life events.
Her first blog was about her surrogacy. After she and her husband, Mike, had two kids pretty close together, they decided not to have any more of their own, but Jenessa wanted to help others who could not give birth without the help of someone like her. A couple in need found her, and she gave birth to twins. Read all about it here:
The two stories come together as she was in talks with another party for a second surrogacy when she received her diagnosis. She has been blogging about that here:
Please show your support by reading her blogs, wearing those Team Jenessa wristbands, and donating to Colon Cancer Alliance!
