My mother, Deborah Barone, was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer 3.5 weeks after her 60th birthday. She looked forward to welcoming grandchildren and to time with family and friends. Instead, she got four years of invasive surgeries, chemo treatments, and radiation. My mother was strong – she fought everything and everyone who dared do things differently than she believed they should be done. She was funny, ruthlessly so. And she deserved better.
In honor of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness month, I am raising money to help ensure others don't face the same battle she did. Your support means so much to me. Together, we can end this disease within our lifetime.
Tomorrow can't wait!
