Dr. Henry Smith Cunningham MD
BOLDLY GOING BLUE AND BALD FOR COLON CANCER AWARENESS!
Linda F. Cunningham, MD (Associate Professor Medical Education, UNT Health Science Center) wants to raise funds and public awareness of the importance of early detection of colorectal cancer. In 2014 her husband Henry died at the age of 56 of this PREVENTABLE disease.
March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month so this fundraiser will take place the whole month. When $2,500 is raised Dr. Linda Cunningham will dye her hair blue (which is the color for Colon Cancer Awareness) and if $5,000 is raised she will shave her hair on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 6:30pm (1000 Montgomery Blvd. Ft Worth, TX 76107, Room MET 124). TCOM nutrition club will provide snacks and Dairy Queen will serve blue blizzards! Darnell Sapp of A.S.A.P.P Barber Salon will do the hair shaving. He was Henry's barber and he too has been touched by colon cancer (his sister in law died in 2010 at the age of 43).
TCOM medical student Daniel Martinez Barrera will dye his hair blonde when $1,000 is raised, dye his hair blue when $2,500 is raised and will shave his hair with Dr. Linda Cunningham on April 1st if we reach $5,000!
Support the effort. Make a donation. Every little bit helps, so please give what you can.
