Rev. Lawrence C. Sledge III
A Daughter's Love
God smiled on me for I had the awesome privilege of being the daughter of Reverend Lawrence C. Sledge III. My father was a remarkable man with a zest for life like no other. He was so loving, caring, extremely attentive, funny and very passionate about life and clear about his purpose on earth. His only mission in life was to do God's will. I can remember mocking him as a kid when he preached :) My brother and I use to play church, he would hear us and we thought he could see through walls lol. He was our hero. My father was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in his mid 20’s but he never let that stop him from doing anything he put his mind too and even as the cancer became more aggressive he was still trying to preach the gospel and encourage others to give their lives to Christ. On Good Friday in March of 1986 at the tender age 30, ,my father was called home to be with Lord, finally free from pain and free from suffering.
Since then Cancer Research has grown by leaps and bounds. I have always felt compelled to do something, to not allow his memory to be forgotten but to share his passion for life with the world. I wanted to find a way to be able to give back and celebrate his life and do whatever I can to help find a cure, to help those effected by Colorectal Cancer and help end this cycle
I know that this is just the beginning of many things to come but along with the Colon Cancer Alliance my dream can become a reality and be a blessing to so many others in need.
On behalf of The Sledge Family, I want to thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts for your donation. May God bless you and keep you
Ms. Andrea N. Sledge
