In Memory of Kim Filson
Why We Run
Why We Run ...
On June 22nd, 2019, we will be participating as a team in the Denver Undy RunWalk!
For those of you who had the opportunity of knowing Kim Filson you know how truly amazing she was. She was witty, adventurous, courageous, affectionate, sincere, strong and so much more. She was very caring and always put her family and friends first. She had a passion for animals of all kinds. At the time of her passing she had a parrot, a cat, ring-necked doves and plecostomus fish. Her laugh was contagious and she had a smile on her face even while facing her battle with cancer.
As you can tell we love and miss Kim dearly. This year will mark the 6 year anniversary of her becoming our guardian angel; therefore, we are walking in memory of our sister, sister-in-law, Aunt and Great-Aunt Kim Filson. Kim was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in February of 2013. She went through chemotherapy and had 4 surgeries including an ileostomy which left her with about 4 feet of functioning small intestine. During her battle she was faced with many obstacles but managed to continue to stay strong and face it all with laughter. After countless hospital stays and 16.5 days in hospice her body could not endure anymore and she passed away on November 17, 2013 at the age of 56.
No family should have to watch their loved one suffer like Kim did. Please help support this cause so hopefully one day soon we’ll have a cure!
Please support my team’s involvement in the Undy RunWalk with a tax-deductable donation. Your support will help us end colorectal cancer and save lives.
