WHAtch Your Tushie -- Get Your Colon Checked!

Why I Run

I am participating in the Sacramento Undy RunWalk on February 24, 2018, at William Land Park. This will be my 6th time participating in this fun run for this worthwhile cause. In March 2013 just weeks after my colon cancer surgery, I triumphantly crossed the finish line of this unique 5K run/walk. This year I'm continuing to KNOCK OUT colon cancer, as I once again join forces with Western Health Advantage (WHA) by being part of their team - WHAtch Your Tushie.

As a 2-time Lynch Syndrome Survivor (endometrial cancer in July 2010 and colon cancer February 2013), I am determined to continue to be proactive and cancer-free!! Lynch Syndrome is a genetic predisposition to certain types of cancer with colon & endometrial being the 2 most common cancers associated with this syndrome. Early diagnosis & annual screenings for tumors & polyps will enable me to detect cancer before it becomes life-threatening. In a sense, my Lynch Syndrome diagnosis saved my life, since that annual colonoscopy enabled me to catch my colon cancer at a very early stage! The best way to prevent colon cancer is early detection, and the Colorectal Cancer Alliance is committed to achieving earlier, safer, and more effective means of detection & treatment. This organization also provides support for patients and survivors throughout the country.
Please support my involvement in the Undy Run/Walk with a tax-deductible donation. Your support will raise money for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s prevention, research, and patient support programs. I'd love to have you be part of my team - WHAtch Your Tushie as I celebrate my 5-year anniversary of being cancer-free! Hope to see you at the Undy Run Walk on February 24, 2018.
