Why I Run
Why I run...
March is National Colon Cancer Awareness Month. Did you know Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States and the second leading cause of cancer death? But it doesn’t have to be this way--through screening, it is one of the most preventable diseases.
On Saturday, March 2nd, 2019, we will be participating as a team in the Colon Cancer Alliance's 2019 San Diego Undy Run/Walk, a “brief” run to fight colon cancer at Mission Bay Park - De Anza Cove.
Please support my team's involvement by registering online today at Undyrunwalk.org or by clicking the "Join Team" button below, and help us kick cancer's A**! If you're unable to attend in person, please consider supporting me with a tax-deductible donation.
Your support will help us in the fight to end colorectal cancer and provide resources to those fighting this courageous battle.
Instead of a typical race T-shirt, all participants will get official Undy Run/Walk boxer shorts. Why underwear? Because people don't like to talk about colorectal cancer, "butt" talking about it can save a life.
This team is being formed in remembrance of my mother, Stevie, and her courageous battle against this disease. As my mom would always say, "cancer is a pain in the a**!"
Don't let it be a pain in yours.
*Be sure to mark your calendar for March 1, 2019, which is designated "Dress in Blue Day" to aid in Colon Cancer awareness.
Hope to see you there!
